Republican Sign Found With Shawn Fisher, Marlborough DTC Chair

Republican Sign Removed by Democrat Town Chair Shawn Fisher
Letter to the Editor from the Marlborough Republican Town Chair.
Some disturbing activities have been occurring in recent days In Marlborough in regards to vandalism and removal of Republican political signs. Last week there were several incidents of signs being run down on North Main Street and other signs being vandalized by the intersection of North Main Street and Park Road. Then, on Saturday morning, someone was observed removing a Republican campaign sign from the center of town. The witness wrote down the person’s license plate and filed a report with the police. The Marlborough constable investigated the matter and it was determined that the person who removed the sign was Shawn Fisher, Chairman of the Marlborough Democratic Town Committee. I have encouraged my Party members NEVER to touch a sign or other property belonging to another Party. I would have expected the same respect from Mr. Fisher. Unfortunately, this was not the case.
Ken Hjulstrom
Marlborough RTC Chairman

Republican Signs run down by parties unknown.

First Shawn Fisher’s attack fliers in the Rivereast, filled with half-truths and words taken out context, now this!
This is not the Marlborough I moved in to years ago, long before Fisher moved in.
Regardless of political philosophy this is our home, our home has no place for this.
This reflects badly on the Democrat Party of Marlborough. He is the Democrat Chair of Marlborough.
This is in line with the other “politics” we see coming from our town hall.
One where vindictive secretive cards are being played AGAINST things they do not support ! Lets not forget the budget votes, and the defiance exhibited in the votes, because people felt they were not getting their way. Rather than a mindset that respects opposing views and their RIGHTS. and Freedoms! But nobody is perfect and we all have done some wrong things. it’s when we admit it, make a change in our hearts that we can move forward. Shawn is a friend of mine and remains one. But does not have my vote even before the sign was taken. We have a defiant Water Pollution control Athority, that uses things such as zoning rules to get back at the people who wonty play ball their way. We have a selectmen who makes a dissabled vetran take the town to court in order for a decision to be made regarding a benifit he is qualified to recieve. Rather than spending the money on the benifits for the vetran, we spend it on lawyers?
It is not a matter of a trivial things such as a sign, but the heart of the matter. Coming from people who no longer represent the mindset of a humble servent, such as George Washington, or Christ himself.
But one where the leaders pride takes control of their choices and clouds them anmd hurts us all in the end.
It is a flaw that can exist within the mind of a republican or a democrat. But lately as a registered independent willing to give my vote to anyone I seem worthy. I am pulling a lot of republican levers tomorrow. Not as a matter of being vindictive myself. But out of a sense of preservatiuon for my town, and my kids.
As I learn my ghrandfather is dying and only has a few days. I reflect back on all the political signs removed from his property over the years, and as badly as I wanted to run over the opposing partys signs in retaliation. I knew that is not what our vetrans fought for. And that is not what my grandfather represented. Or why he allowed signs to be placed on his land !
Who should you vote for on November 3rd?
It all comes down to simple math.
Democrats Lauren Cragg and Russ West would say that the Republicans only saved you 25¢ a day when they trimmed waste from the budget last year!
That adds up to $587,000 trimmed by Republicans, which reduced last year’s budget increase from 6.63% down to 2.4%. That ain’t chump change!
When Republicans made 21 motions to cut waste, Lauren Cragg voted NO all 21 times!
So when you go to the polls on Tuesday, let me ask you this. Do you want people on the Board of Finance who will watch out for you and who keep tax increases to a minimum, or will you vote for Lauren Cragg and Russ West who feel that $587,000 is just not enough money to worry about?
Please do the math and vote for Republican candidates Cliff Denniss, Richard “Dick” Shea, Pasquale Amodeo and Susan Lesser. They are ready to work for YOU!
