If you look in the November 13th issue of the Rivereast (page 7) you will find a Letter to the Editor by Beth Petroni. She even signs it as a member of the Board of Finance. In this letter Beth says that “NO member/alternate should make statements when representing the board (Board of Finance), without prior approval by the board.” Am I missing something? Isn’t Beth’s letter doing just that? This is a matter for discussion at a Board of Finance meeting. What is the purpose of airing her thoughts in public other than to try to influence the Board’s operation? Isn’t this how we got to where we were last budget season, when certain BOF members tried to stir up the taxpayers with scare tactics and misleading information? I guess some people have not learned anything. That is a shame. But I hope that the public sees through this and contnues to support those on the BOF who are working in the best interests of the taxpayers.
